Photoshop perfection...

I just added these in as extra. The first one is a simple grayscale conversion (no tweaking) - this is most likely how your photos would look if you tried to print them in b/w straight from your camera. The second photo is a more dynamic picture. A good black and white photo will have black & white in it - not just shades of grey. I also added a vignette and texture.

I wanted to use this post to explain to those not in the know about how photoshop improves digital pictures. When l take photos they don't go straight from camera to lab to print, there is a crucial step in between to give photos that "professional edge".

And also to explain to you that the price you pay for your professional photos includes the time and effort it takes to make your photos the best they can be.

It might also be the time to tell you photoshop finishing techniques does not fix bad photography, you have to start with a correctly exposed photo to begin with.

On another note - l am working on my website - keep an eye out in the next few weeks for launch date!

He Sleeps!

Sometimes, anyway.

Here is the Bailey-Man, looking far more angelic than l know he is! LOL.

I love the innocence of this photo - don't all children just look so gorgeous when they are asleep?

The eyes have it....

I love a good eye photo, one where nothing stands out like the eyes.... this has been overexposed in photoshop and the selectively coloured.

Charli has beatiful big eyes and they work really well with these types of photos.

Bailey Rocks!

Literally, that is!!

Meet my newest prop.

The gorgeous rocking horse.

Although it has already suffered an unfortunate accident (due to the feral-ness of my children, it lasted all of an hour before it was broken), luckily my darling husband put it back together again, still this old horse ain't what it used to be....

How to get faces like this....

I find that threats of tickling work really well....

and if they're lying on the grass like this, talk of stomping is a good place to start.

I love Kaitlynn's gummy-ness.

Grateful

what are you grateful for? do you ever just stop and take stock of all the wonderful things you have, or do you get sidetracked with the wishing and wanting of all the things you don't?

l am grateful, so grateful, that l have a husband who l love and who loves me back, that l have three healthy, happy children.

And that's it. l have everything l need right there in reach. we don't have heaps of money or fancy cars, but it doesn't matter. l am lucky to have what l have (and lucky to know it).

how do you tell someone you don't know that they changed your life without it sounding bizarre, l wonder?

to the wonderful sheye rosemeyer, http://sheyerosemeyer.blogspot.com/ who writes so beautifully and whose photos show so much life and movement, l must say you move me, and l am changed.

thankyou for showing me l have everything l need right here in my arms. may your life get easier day by day, and the memory of your superprincess never fade.

my mission (if l choose to accept it).....

well, l have a mission..... no one said it would be easy, but it must be done.

l need to capture a somewhat professional looking photo of my three children - together - in the same photo, to put on my christmas cards.... better start early (it might take a while)

it is a most difficult task (thanks, bailey)

this is the only decent photo of my 3 together l have... so much harder to achieve when they are your own kiddies

this photo is ove 1 year old now..... definetely time to update

favourites - part 1

l haven't done too much photography with my own kids in the last couple of weeks, so l thought l'd revisit some old favourites.

this one is charli - l love this photo - the way the sun highlights her flyaway hair, the way the wind was blowing her hair and the beautiful expression on her face.

this is what it's all about!

love it!
